Final Meeting
May 9, 2016

The final meeting will be held at Sharp Memorial Church in Young Harris at 6 PM on Monday 9th

This will be the final meeting of the organization. We are disbanding after over 25 years of user to user support. Technology has changed greatly over that period and become both more diverse and easier to use. Everything from cars to televisions to money has moved into the digital age and providing meaningful support to all of those formats has proved impractical.

The journey has been a great one and we thank the many individuals who have offered programs and support over the years. Our club has raised and donated thousands of dollars to food pantries, libraries, woman’s shelters and other non-profit organizations. We all have learned a great deal and enjoyed the process. The members and board wish all of you successful computing in the years ahead.

At that meeting we will be liquidating all assets belonging to MCUG. There will be a free table, a silent auction, door prizes, and some items will be discarded as trash. All of our books will be donated to the public library. All sales will be cash and carry, NO checks or credit cards. Click HERE for silent auction list.

The Board voted at its March meeting to donate all of the cash proceeds of the meeting and all cash in our bank account to organizations with similar goals (i.e. technology related). The two organizations that were selected were the Towns County High School Robotics Team and the ICL/YHC. Both programs have an emphasis on technology education.

This meeting will start at 6:00PM in the Fellowship Hall of Sharp Memorial Methodist Church located in Young Harris. Sharp is South of the previous meeting place about a block on US76. Entry is from the South side parking area about midway down the building.

Please go to meeting information for more about our disbanding plan.
